From high school student to historic college athlete
Jordan Simmons | Biology | Class of 2019
Jordan Simmons, ’19, will go down in CSE history. This Florida native traded his flip-flops for athletic shoes when he was recruited for the first-ever men’s basketball team at CSE.
“My parents were supportive of me leaving home because they knew I had the maturity to stay focused, accomplish my goals and earn my degree,” says Jordan, who plays point guard for the College.
“CSE was perfect for me because everyone cares, has your best interests in mind and I was able to make history.”
In addition to the close-knit environment, Jordan was also attracted to CSE’s dual degree options in biology. Since he intends on becoming a pharmacist after graduating, he was particularly interested in the joint B.S. in Biology/Doctor of Pharmacy program. This dual degree option enables students to earn their B.S. in biology at CSE and have priority admission to Saint Joseph College, School of Pharmacy in Hartford, Connecticut for their doctorate.
“At CSE, the professors do everything they can to ensure that you succeed.”
