From personal challenges to professional opportunities

Devon Tuten | Business and Psychology | Class of 2020

Devon Tuten, ’20, draws his strength from past adversity. Before entering college, Devon lost both his mother and grandmother to cancer but he vowed to use his CSE education to honor their memory.

“Instead of going down the wrong path I promised I was going to make them proud no matter what,” says Devon.

“CSE has been my redemption.”

Currently, Devon is making the most of his time at CSE by playing basketball, tutoring students struggling in math and double majoring in business and psychology. He even recently met with Senator Sandra B. Cunningham to discuss the importance of funding scholarship programs.

“The College has developed me into a leader both in the classroom and in life,” says Devon. “I’m very grateful.”
